You are playing on the same terms as everyone else. Only difference is that you chose a platform that requires a paid subscription to access online multiplayer. Xbox live is a service that connects you to microsofts online multiplayer. This has absolutely nothing to do with fortnite or epic games. But by your logic, because I play on a PC then I shouldn't have to pay for my internet because fortnite is free to play...doesn't make much sense, right?
